Charotar Leuva Patidar Samaj (CLiPS) Bay Area is a volunteer-run community nonprofit. This page explains what information we collect through clipsbayarea.org, why we collect it, and how we look after it.
What we collect
- Membership and contact forms: your name, spouse name, Gaam, email, phone, mailing address, member number and anything you write to us.
- Event tickets and donations: the buyer’s name, email, phone, address, member number, attendee names, meal choice and what was purchased.
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. CLiPS never sees or stores your full card number.
- Basic site statistics: anonymous visit counts (via Jetpack Stats) so we know which pages are useful.
How we use it
- To manage CLiPS membership and keep our member directory up to date.
- To run events: issue tickets, check guests in at the door, plan seating and meals.
- To send receipts, event announcements and CLiPS news (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To keep accurate financial records for the organization.
Who can see it
Your information is available only to CLiPS board members and volunteers who need it to run membership and events. Member and ticket records are kept in the CLiPS website and in a private CLiPS Google Sheet. We use trusted services to operate the site (our web host, Stripe for payments, Google for email and records, and Mailchimp for newsletters). We never sell or rent your information.
Cookies
The site uses a few small cookies that are needed for the ticket cart and checkout to work, to keep staff logged in, and for anonymous visit statistics. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
Membership records are kept while you are a member and for a reasonable period afterwards. Ticket and payment records are kept as long as needed for our financial and tax records.
Your choices
- Update your details any time with the Update My Info form.
- Ask us to see, correct or delete your information by emailing clipsbayarea@gmail.com.
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link at the bottom of any CLiPS email.
Children
Children may be listed as family members or attendees by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.
